๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Positioning is Everything โ€“ Tactical Combat Update

Project LOOP v0.2.0 fundamentally changes combat. Position on the grid is now as important as the cards in your hand. Movement, planning, and tactics are key โ€“ AoE is no longer a universal solution.

โš”๏ธ Combat Rework

  • AoE Cards: Now based on player's position on the grid. Positioning is key, movement has value, planning matters.
  • Modified Cards: Consecration (around player), Holy Wave (player's row), Light Pillar (player's column), Purging Burst (short range), Divine Wrath (fixed 3ร—3). Rare full-board cards remain strong.
  • Enemy AI: Can move and attack in one turn, use abilities situationally, react to distance, HP, and position. Tactical roles are now clear.

๐Ÿง  Enemy Classes

  • Fighter โ€“ seeks ideal attack position
  • Archer โ€“ retreats while shooting
  • Assassin โ€“ flank bonuses, double attack possible
  • Berserker โ€“ damage increases over fight
  • Mage โ€“ spell rotation, close-range teleport
  • Healer โ€“ saves allies, buffs team
  • Druid โ€“ area control (root, slow, summon)
  • Monk โ€“ buffs team, attacks strategically

๐ŸŒณ Passive Skill Tree & Progression

  • 3 clean branches: Offense / Defense / Utility
  • Tier nodes fixed (Tier 2 = 2 pts, Tier 3 = 2 pts, Keystones = 3 pts, Mastery = 4 pts)
  • Offense branch strengthened; Avatar of Light nerfed to 50% max HP
  • New XP formula โ€“ smoother leveling and better rewards
  • NG+ scaling improved (+30% HP/damage, movement, escalating challenges)

โž• New Enemies & Abilities

  • Boss DemonGirl: 2 combat phases, teleport attack, aura damage, strong AoE abilities
  • Dark Beast: Jump attack, bleeding effect, ally buffs
  • New abilities: teleports, shields, buffs, roots, AoE attacks โ€“ combat is now tactical, not just stats

  • GlobalUI visible in all scenes (HP, gold, floor, NG+, package)
  • Version number visible in main menu
  • Hover animations, drag & drop, grid overlays improved
  • Status effects and enemy intent icons now more readable
  • Automatic migration of incompatible save files

โš–๏ธ Balance & Fixes

  • Damage system stabilized; extreme spikes removed
  • Holy damage fixed against Undead & Demon types
  • Artifacts: Dragon Heart, Time Crystal, Phoenix Feather adjustments
  • Shop pricing adjustments
  • Bug fixes: Assassin, Monk, Entangle, player death log

  • Combat is more tactical and less exploitable

  • Smoother progression, NG+ is a real challenge
